Speckled hellebore
The hellebores are among the first to appear in the spring, and come into full bloom in April.

I have mixed feelings about the wild violets; so beautiful yet they quickly become pests and would gladly take over the world if allowed.

The species tulips bloom in April; here are the tardas, looking suspiciously like fried eggs...

And as April finished, the hybrid tulips begin with the promise that May is going to be just as colorful.
