Faux Raku Vessel Necklace and Bracelet
I love the look of raku, but don't have a kiln. So, polymer clay is my solution! It is a fabulous medium that can be made to look like almost anything. It invites experimentation.

I have included some faux Ivory beads in the stringing of this necklace and African Replica Trade beads. The face was imprinted and then I carved some areas when the piece had cooled.

Antique Leather Album covers

Faux Turquoise and copper necklace
This is my entry for the PCAGOE faux challenge. Polymer clay is so wonderful and versatile that it can be used to mimic almost anything. I have chosen to recreate turquoise.
My entry is a necklace created out of my own faux turquoise polymer clay beads. They are developed using my own recipe.
The necklace is enhanced with copper chain and findings and lovely carved carnelian lotus beads.
It does not have a clasp as it is long enough to be slipped over your head.

Faux Collage - Two Edwardian Ladies With Morning Glories
This is my entry in the PCAGOE April challenge, the theme of which is "Faux".
This is a "faux collage" or "faux scrapbooking" technique applied to polymer clay using three layers of mage transfers from Magic Transfer Paper onto Pearl Premo clay and a embossed Black Premo base. I distressed some areas to give it more of an aged or vintage feel, and added a fairly thick layer of liquid Kato clay before baking, then sanded and buffed it.

Ocean Mix Faux Abalone Shell Necklace
I created the faux abalone shell out of polymer clay for the April PCAGOE Challenge. I attached the beads to a textured antique chain to make it look like the necklace came from a sunken underwater treasure chest. I added dangles of pearls, glass and seed beads in ocean colors in between the oval faux abalone beads.

Necklace and two bracelets in faux turquoise
This is my entry for the PCAGOE faux challenge in April 2009. First I covered a wooden bracelet with polymer clay in faux turquoise. With the remainder of the clay I created the beads, which I combined with mother of pearl, reconstituted turquoise and tiny silver beads. The short necklace can be prolonged with the bracelet.

Marble Sewn Pendant
Whimsical and somewhat freakish pendant which combines the incompatibles - marble & fabric! I deliberately opted against even stitches - love the raw look.
The back of this pendant is faux leather as well as the frame.

Faux River Stone Necklace

Faux Metal Pendant - Square
This is my favorite creation so far this month.
I used Jones Tones foils for the metal look. A stamp I designed last summer was used for the scrollwork design. I learned this technique at the Buckeye Clay Bash last month. Debbie Jackson gave a wonderful demonstration on using texture with foils on polymer clay.
My old hobby of macram� came in handy for the cording. I think the waxed black cord makes the green cording (which has some metallic flecks in it) more comfortable to wear and also adds a bit of a decorative touch to match the pendant. The dangles and pendant are attached with shiney brown craft wire.
The dangles can be worn in at the back of the neck, but I think it's more fun to wear them forward. The left dangle is a bit shorter than the right for an asymmetrical touch. There is so much going on with this piece that earrings would be totally optional.
The canes used in this piece are inspired by Sarah Shriver's work that I found in an article in Belle Armoire Magazine (Jan/Feb 2006). I used bits of the less reduced cane to decorate the pendant in a sort of faux cloisonn�.

Faux Opal Fit for A Queen
My entry in the PCAGOE April Challenge. A large, 30mm faux opal cabochon made from polymer clay and inclusions, embellished with wire, beads, and Swarovski crystals, strung on a diamond cut silver chain. Opals are my favorite gemstone.

Faux Ivory and Turquoise Ancient Alphabet Gameboard
This game board is my Challenge Entry for the Faux Challenge for April 2009. It is made from 32 individually made pieces of faux Ivory and 32 pieces of faux Turquoise . They are then set in a 'mortar' to complete the board and are mounted in a wooden tray which has been pyro-engraved. Each Ivory piece has also been carved with one of the 22 letters of an ancient Hebrew Alef-bet that is almost 3000 years old. Since there are only 22 letters and 32 pieces it took some working out to space them in an equally pleasing way across the board.
Each Turguoise piece is carefully shaped, baked, sanded, buffed, antiqued, tinted, sanded and buffed again. Each ivory piece starts from a square to which a slice of a faux ivory cane is carefully applied and laminated to the surface. Then various texturing devices are employed to give it a very ancient look such as worm holes and cracks from age. These are then baked, sanded, antiqued a few times for deep of color, sanded and then buffed.
This piece took me approximately 70-80 hours to complete but I am happy with the results and proud to enter it into the PCAGOE challenge. The voting begins on April 1st and you can cast your vote there at pcagoe.com and be entered into a drawing to win some great prizes, just for voting!
