Madame Butterfly
I understand the mathematics behind cane construction.
But, I have never been convinced that magic does not play a big part in the process !
There remains an element of wonder at the moment of that first slice!
The tecnique allows me the use the same design in so many ways .
I can shrink, bend ,twist and tweak so that the cane component is the same ,yet....different !
I made two basic canes for this challenge...
A little pushing ,pulling, bending and blending ....
and they morphed into a Tiny Madame Butterfly !
It has to be magic !!!
I love polymer clay !!!!

Rainstick
This is my entry in the PCAGOE March 2009 cane work challenge. This rainstick is made of a paper towel tube, about 200 nails, a handful of rice and several polymer clay canes. All of the colors are hand-mixed using Fimo and Premo polymer clays. The sound is a lovely soft rain sound. Listen here: divadea.com/rainstick1.mp3

Medaevil manuscript cane set
This set of 4 canes are all based on pieces/design elements that you could find in medaevil illuminated manuscripts. I took a class to the museum to see an exibit, and I fell in love with the little detail work in the illuminations. I decided I needed to try to make that in clay. There is a simple gold dot, a small fleur de lis on a dark pearl blue back ground, and celtic knot, and a colorful floral design. All 4 canes are made from Sculpey III, and they all use the same colors. They were designed to be used together.

En Trois Pendant
I made this pendant for the March PCAGOE challenge. I started by making the cane in pink, black and white. I combined several pieces of the cane to make a three way triangle. I then put four of the pieces together to create the canework that is in the middle of the pendant. The top and bottom sections of the pendant are made from pieces of the cane that were trimmed in the process of completing the cane.

Varliukas-ramuniukas
Hello, my name is Varliukas-ramuniukas. I know, the name is complicated, but nothing is simple in this world (especially in nature). Normaly no-one can see me...I'm hiding in Liukse's buddy icon, but this time I decided to show myself and to participate in the competition called "PCAGOE Monthly Challenge".
