March challenge: Animals
I have many different animals that I make, so it took me awhile to finally decide on what to submit for the challenge. I love elephants and I just adore this couple. So young and innocent.

Tropical Fish Frame by divadea.etsy.com
One-of-a-kind photo frame created with hand-mixed, bright polymer clay colors. The fish and seaweed are built with layers of polymer clay cane work in spirals and other detailed patterns. The background was made by painstakingly laying down clay stripes, spirals and dots one at a time to make a wavy, flowing "ocean."
This piece was created for the Polymer Clay Artists Guild of Etsy March Challenge. Vote for your favorite from noon on March 1 to midnight on March 3 at pcagoe.com.

Flintstone Necklace by jangeisen.etsy.com
This is my submission to PCAGOE's (Polymer Clay Artist's Guild of Etsy) March 2008 monthly challenge. The challenge theme was: Animals. The petroglyph panels are made entirely of polymer clay. The backing was made to resemble wood or stone. The petroglyphs were stamped on to a sheet of clay that I created to resemble agate. I made animal hide millefiori canes (leopard and giraffe) that I used for beads and dangles. The other beads on the necklace are small brass rondelles and carved wood. I also made three other necklaces using the leftover canes. This is the one I thought best represented the theme.
I have photos of the other three necklace on my Flickr page.

Peacock Feathers Pendant by thecolorofdreams.etsy.com
I just love the colors of peacock feathers and used this as my animal theme. The pendant was created with blue, green, turquoise and gold. I made the peacock feather cane and used the slices to create this pendant. The blue/green color is used to outline the pendant and the back is all blue/green.

Tiger Inro Neckpiece by marciapalmer.etsy.com
My entry for PCAGOE March challenge. I don't make polymer clay canes too often, but I had fun with this one. I applied slices of the tiger cane to a base sheet of clay. The patterned sheet was then baked onto the shaped pendant.
