They keep coming...
... to dinner with me. Isn't it a wonder?
More about "my" magpies in this other photo. Gale, you know why these are so special to me, doesn't you?

Magpies
I have been observing these magpies for years but I've found almost impossible to take good shots of them. This is neither the best nor the worse, but as it has two birds...

Simplicity
I've to go this evening to the birthday party of one of my nephews, so I'll not be here till tomorrow. I know I'm being very silly, but... well, I wanted you to know. See you.

Seemingly bad shot
Second part of my walk of Aug. 31.
The first I did was to come to this park and take some shots of this fountain.
But I could not end what I was trying to do because there was some disturbance close by that didn't let me even take well this last shot to the fountain.

Quercus robur? NO
A closer view of the trunk and the bark.
[edited] It seems it's not even Quercus, but Sorbus intermedia

Quercus robur? NO
View of the whole tree. It's very young (5 or 6 year-old) and it's not thriving very much.
I've made a wild adjustment to channels because it was just after sunrise and the lighting here was not very good.
[edited] It seems it's not even Quercus, but Sorbus intermedia

The invisible ants
This anthill is rather new (june of this year) and the ants are very different than those of the previous one. In fact, these are so little and of a colour such as to be almost invisible. Some of then are most blackish, but even then it's difficult to appreciate them.
The anthill is also different, as you can appreciate. They are near neighbours, about five meters from one to the other, but they have not engage in a war still.
BTW, you must look at the large size photo ;-)

Ants in your way
This view shows the previous anthill in a better contextual way. You see that they are not as bigger as you would hav supposed, though they are big enough to be seen just by looking.

Hard workers
These little beauties are already preparing themselves for the winter, I think. I've been observing them for two years only, so I don't know very much about their life-cycle. If someone can point me to a good, reliable reference I'd thank her/him very, very much.
NEWS: FYI, the link that hockadilly has posted is marvellous (to me at least).
This is a replica of that link: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ant
Thank you very, very much, hockadilly.

A little milkmaid
I don't think any human would work as hard as this little "aphidherd". There was no other ant that I could see in that little branchs.

For some reason this caught my attention also, though I was looking only for natural beings.

This was a view I wanted to take with the IR film, but just then I couldn't. Ill try the next time I obtain some Kodak HIE.

We have at least ten like this one. When they bloom it seems like if we were having a party.
