Fractal Tiger

Highest Position #1 -- I'm speechless!

Please please please comment if you visit. And please ask before you use the image. I wont mind - I just want to know where it is being used.

Applied the Fractalius filter to my Hypno Tiger image and kinda like the result a lot!

This also marks my 100th upload to Flickr.

Many thanks to Craptastic for the heads up on the Plugin from Redfield.

For anyone interested - the original image is here:

Spirit Lamps

These are some spirit lamps in my mother's kitchen. I edited to HDR using one RAW photo technique which i increased and decreased exposure ( 0.00, -1.05, +1.05) with Adobe Lightroom and generate it to HDR with Photomatics.

Mt Baker and Iceberg Lake HDR 5083

After hiking around on Mt Rainier for two days, I went to visit my favorite fall place, Mt Baker and Mt Shuksan. I arrived at about 7:30 in the morning to snap a sunrise photo of either mountain, but did not like the light. The sky was also crystal clear, so not much interest in the sky. So I decided to drive up to Artist's Point, elevation of about 5,400' and maybe take a few photos. Still the light was not right, so I decided to hike the Chain Lakes Trail. I was concerned as it was about 7 miles long. Concern soon turned into amazement as I was blown away by spectacular scenery. This is Iceberg Lake and the water was so clear and also had that glacier blue tinge to it. You can actually camp overnight in several designated areas around this chain of lakes in the area, you just got to hike out there. The trail ends at Heather Meadows, seven miles and 7 hours later! It also ends about 600' or more lower in elevation. That is okay until the realization of how tired I was from the hiking knowing I now needed to hike back up the mountain to Artist's Point to retrieve my car! That was another 2.5 miles uphill all the way. I fell into my car and then drove back down to Heather Meadows and spent another 2.5 hours shooting photos of Mt Shuksan. Those will come later.
This is actually a one shot HDR. I processed my three shot with the standard -2,0,+2 exposures, which looked exactly the same as this. The only thing was that it was very windy and the tree branches in the upper left and the trees in the bottom of the shot were ghosting. So I went with the one shot, without the movement. I could have Photoshopped the branches out, but I liked the way the snag on the right and the branches on the left framed the view.
Thank you to all of my Flickr friends for your views, comments and faves. Now that I am back, I am working on catching up on your photo streams. There have been a lot of amazing photos that have been posted while I was gone. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

An over-exposed shot

My first nightscape shot at Manila Harbour Square

I was experimenting with my camera settings just to get the best and correct exposure but this one still caught my attention. Just tweak and play with curves, levels and minor sharpening in Adobe Photoshop CS4.

Oh yes, I don't have a tripod here instead I only put my camera on top of my Crumpler 7MDH! :P
