welcome banner
this banner lights up at night and stretches across the airport expressway...this is the way you drive from the airport into town.

workers stadium
this is where the soccer will be played... it's where our favorite pizza place is, and it's closed down until after the games.

our guards
these are our guards... they traded in their red berets for these sweet olympic caps

crossing guards
there are volunteers on every corner.. these are to help cross the road.. they are very helpfuL!

taxi drivers
not usually known for fashion, last week all the taxi drivers showed up in new yellow button up shirts and ties... i am thinking they are not that crazy about the updated image

toll booth
the toll booth folks traded their army green uniforms for a softer image as well. men in white shirts and ties, women in yellow silk tops

construction drapes
anything still under construction has to be draped... this huge building is the only one like this that i have seen.

flags
all the streets are lined w/ colorful flags. i LOVE them. they are beautiful. cool designs, great bright colors..

birdsnest
you can't even get close to this building the security is so tight. even though it's such a weird building, it's just become iconic.

the olympic lane
every street/road has a designated olympic lane that is ONLY for olympic cars. don't worry, they won't be late because of traffic.

the motto is everywhere... and i think it becomes more and more meaningful as it gets closer

only for beijing
we went to the new 4 story adidas store and saw all the shoes that adidas have created JUST for the beijing athletes.. they look great...all black and white. (good look)

workers
there are constantly hundreds of people out working, cleaning and planting etc...

the apple store.
the new apple store is certainly a beautification element for beijing.. it's a beautiful thing.

freeway lanterns.
can you imagine decorating the whole city? they have done a great job. looks so beautiful
