Students create national park trading cards
December 14th, 2008
Stumbled across this fun use of the Trading Card maker in the classroom from Karen Bosch:
Recently my sixth grade students have been working on a research project about our National Parks. One of their project choices was making a National Park trading card based on their research … The students loved making these cards. It is the kind of project that could be adapted to almost any subject. You could even have the students do these at home as a homework assignment as a fun way to publish a paragraph or report!

Great idea!
I blogged about Karen Bosch’s post for teachers with my own post aimed at librarians:

I think the class could sell these as a fund raiser. Very nice project.

This is a great idea. Just be respectful of the photographer’s photo rights. I’d get approval from the artist before attempting to sell them or even use the photos. It’s always nice to find a new way to make an assignment fun and interesting!
