the birth of fantasy

this would have been my Masterminds entry for this week, but when the deadline came, it still needed more "jazzing up" lol
..... the theme was Fantasy & Magic. I wanted to portray the idea that a fantasy begins in a book, and is born out of that. When my kids were little, I read to them all the time. I believe reading really good, creative, imaginative books - finding characters you can identify with - is the best fantasy of all. But next to that, logging on to Second Life is pretty close :) You can seriously create almost any fantasy in there LOL

ok - credit time..........

mythical brushes (the little halo around the book) rach-resources.deviantart.com/art/Mythical-Brush-Set-5210...

sparkly fairy wing brush - redheadstock.deviantart.com/art/Fairy-Wings-Brushes-75390393

glow brushes (luv these !!) - hawksmont.deviantart.com/art/Glow-Brushes-I-90961490

explosion brushes (behind book) - chrissy79.deviantart.com/art/Explosion-Brushset-71880062

book - dysturbedstock.deviantart.com/art/Book-3-9044564

yellow sky bg (and also her blue one) - joannastar-stock.deviantart.com/art/fantasy-sky-bg-06-978...

forest bg - ro-stock.deviantart.com/art/Foggy-Forest-2-72619431

large butterflies - shoofly-stock.deviantart.com/art/Butterfly-Stock-4-36155021

butterfly swarm - jlstock.deviantart.com/art/Butterflies-001-49333575
and also her fairy model - jlstock.deviantart.com/art/Fairy-040-49708666

the moon and one other sky bg came from StockExchange

the hair came from Renderosity (there are 10 packs, - they had a sale omg !!! - and I dont remember which one this is, sorry) - renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=40611

**EDIT FOR HOW DID YOU DO THAT GROUP
(hope ur sittin down, this may take a while LOL)
I started with the 2 sky backgrounds, one yellow one blue, and played with blending modes (and also swapping the placement of the 2 layers, first yellow on bottom and blue on top, then swap) until i found something i liked. then added the forest bg, doing the same thing (blending modes and swapping). i also had a cloud bg that i used, again playing with blending mode. when that looked ok, i added the moon, again with modes, and also layer styles for the moon. next came the figure. i used adjustments to change the color of her dress, erased her original hair, and added both inner and outer glow in layer styles. i also copied her and used blending modes til satisfied. next the Renderosity hair (which comes in PSD layers). again, copied and applied blending modes. new layer for wings (which were a brush), rotated and placed behind figure. then a new layer for the book, placed and sized, copied and blend modes. then new layers for each glow brush. then placed the single butterflies, and also the butterfly swarm. (and yes, blend modes and layer styles lol). new layer for the text. then flatten and used the Beautifier filter from Red Paw Media, with the settings bumped up high for the filter. and if i did anything else, i dont remember :P

Rockerfairey SneakAttack

I met Cole while doing the grid-wide ghost hunt this weekend. Turns out shes a nice guy - umm fairy. Who knew? :p
She took me to her home and showed me her "magic".......... I have *never* seen such a firestorm of particles LOL. This free BG that I found a long time ago reminded me of the wonderful, sparkly time we shared. Hope you like it, Cole !! :))

Steampunk Jazz

You know u want to view this large lol !!!! My version of a tutorial I found in Advanced Photoshop magazine. The tutorial was fairly easy to follow, but it still stretched the limits of what I am able to do up to this point, so for that reason, I am rather pleased with how it turned out. I chose to make a few changes, as I wanted to do a blend of both SL and RL elements. From SL, I have used my Jazz avi, wings from Bare Rose, boots from DK (yes, I kno they r not true steampunk style, but its the closet i had), skin based on the free templates from Eloh Eliot (skin is no longer available), and several VERY cropped shots from the Fair Chang Lost Isle - Steampunk Forge sim. I was also thrilled to find that i had a pose almost identical to the one used by the original model for the tut lol. So a big thx to Zelly Mornington of Striking Poses for the pose!!! The other elements found here were included on the cd which came with the magazine (for some, the links were provided). The creator of the tutorial is Aimee Stewart, who can be found on DeviantArt. If I am suppose to provide all the links myself, plz let me kno - I'm still not positive about the technicalities lol. For those of you who want to try this yourself, go to the following website, find issue 45, and download the one called Readers Workshop Tutorial
www.advancedphotoshop.co.uk/tutorials.php

o yeah, and because most of us enjoy listening to music while we work, try a little steampunk music to go along with it -- Abney Park, playing Airship Pirates :)) lol I actually kinda liked them !!!!

Mission #15 - Moondance

first attempt at the Damned Flicker Missions - thx for the help Tynee :)

youtube.com/watch?v=M-t6bdtAoDE&feature=related

Well, its a marvelous night for a moondance
With the stars up above in your eyes
A fantabulous night to make romance
neath the cover of october skies
And all the leaves on the trees are falling
To the sound of the breezes that blow
And Im trying to please to the calling
Of your heart-strings that play soft and low
And all the nights magic seems to whisper and hush
And all the soft moonlight seems to shine in your blush

Chorus:
Can I just have one more moondance with you, my love
Can I just make some more romance with you, my love

Well, I wanna make love to you tonight
I cant wait til the morning has come
And I know that the time is just right
And straight into my arms you will run
And when you come my heart will be waiting
To make sure that youre never alone
There and then all my dreams will come true, dear
There and then I will make you my own
Any time I touch you, you just tremble inside
And I know how much you want me that you cant hide

Chorus

Well, I wanna make love to you tonight
I cant wait til the morning has come
And I know that the time is just right
And straight into my arms you will run
And when you come my heart will be waiting
To make sure that youre never alone
There and then all my dreams will come true, dear
There and then I will make you my own
Any time I touch you, you just tremble inside
And I know how much you want me that you cant hide

Chorusx2

My love, my love
I just want one more moondance with you
Yes I do
