Death Of An Assasin
These buggers kill millions of people each year, doubt they do it on purpose though.

Same reverse lens technique as in that last photo "Balance". But used a 2X teleconverter as a boost this time :D
Thanks to azzu for lending me the 210mm tele and the teleconveter. Check out his amazing stream at:

And heres a shot my state of the art macro studio (subject still in place)

:P
Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/400)
Aperture: f/10
Focal Length: 210 mm X2
Pentax 50mm boost was at f/8 as before. Lighting was from the lamp as seen in the "studio" photo and from the onboard flash. That exam pad helped bounce it onto the subject.

Mosquito!!
On campus, we have a whole plethora of terrible public art, including this decapitated head.
Imagine my glee when I discovered today that someone left a rather large mosquito to feed on the head! You can't see it, but it's so going straight for the brain.
The mosquito is dated 5/5/6, and is not bolted down. I hope it stays.

This is a continuation of my series. I love these 3 guys. Definitely plenty of the real thing here in Florida and I would prefer the art over the insect.. mosquito bites SUCK!
Well HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all that apply! Enjoy your day with family and of course ...DRINKS!

Mosquito painting
A painting outside the School of Australian Indigenous Knowledge Systems at Charles Darwin University.
As far as I have determined so far, the artist is Desmond Raymond, who takes the name Kootji. He was a scholar of indigenous Australian cultural history at CDU.
It seemed appropriate to post these pictures on the day that the Prime Minister of Australia apologised to the 'stolen generation' of mixed descent children.
