7Days:1 - A LOT of Room (view optional)

Airing and drying out the tent from last week's camping trip. There's been talk of a sleep-out tonight with one of the boys, but we'll see if they're still on board with that when they get to choose between the sleeping back and their bed (I'd choose the former, but that's just me).

I take special pleasure in the extra-large size of this tent. Sleeps the four of us with nobody touching. The hardcore hiker in me wouldn't have considered this 20-lb tent, rather I'd take the two-man, 3.5lb tent with the graphite poles (and a big bag of gorp to make up for all that weight savings). Incidentally, my head would have been touching the roof in the hiking tent. Oh, this one also comes with a dome light (like in your car) and a wireless remote switch.

Yeah, we're hardcore.

7Days:3 - Wonk in Training

A ritual on Mondays and Thursdays is perusing the new issue of Macleans, a sassy and often controversial (and though it's not entirely reflective of my own views, it's definitely reflective of my level of snark) Canadian publication of news, politics, and mass media. Since I started working for The Man, the political bent of the magazine has been much more appealing.

This cover features Don Cherry, arguably the king of televised hockey in Canada. Just last week the national public broadcaster passed on a royalties deal and lost the 40-year old theme song to Hockey Night in Canada. Evidently, according to the cover, that's just the tip of the iceberg.

7Days:4 - The Cleats of Defeat

We lost our ultimate frisbee game tonight, and though we're just out there for the fun of it, I can't but feel a little disappointed. I've been playing in this particular league for 8 years now, and have seen the league grow from 5 teams in my first year to nearly 50 teams today. I've gone from being a beginner, to a seasoned veteran, to helping those beginners develop their own skills, like in our close-call game tonight.

(Photo was done with the "painting with light" technique. It was late at night and I'm not so good with the flash, so I thought I'd try something different.)

7days:5 - Railing droplets

Three days of mist, fog, rain, and intermittent thundershowers has left me with no shortage of water for my 7days assignment. However, the sun started to come out today, robbing me of puddles almost entirely. The ferry ride home today, however, provided me with droplets of water on the railing that overlooks the life raft. (Mental note: safest place on the ferry? Next to the life raft.)

7days:6 - Playmobil Wedding

As a wedding gift, we received this watercolour painting of the very place we were married. Playmobil figures are added for realistic effect. (Note: Mr and Mrs Farmer seem to have patched things up since the big split earlier this year.)

No, it's not our anniversary. Just somewhat inspired by the 7 Days project.

7days:7 - Finished business.

Another close to 7days, and I must say, this gets more fun every time. I'm feeling more inspired this time around than last time -- maybe it's the preponderance of daylight. Whatever the reason, you people keep me coming back for more.
