Fantasy Flower Cocktail Ring and Earrings
I have wanted to have a go at making a ring for ages and this month's PCAGOE challenge gave me just the opportunity I had been looking for!
This is a fantasy flower! It has no proper name, but you can name it if you want to! The earrings are smaller bud versions of the flower.
The ring flower has a Crystal nestled like a dewdrop of water in the centre and the petals are made of burnt orange metallic clay, whilst the leaves are slices of one of my leaf canes.
I have not used any glue to secure the flower to the ring base, instead the leaves go all the way underneath the ring base, completely enclosing it, so it looks pretty no matter which angle you look at it.

PCAGOE May Challenge Entry - Pretty Posy
My submission for the May 2008 PCAGOE Challenge. This is entitled Pretty Posy.
A coral colored polymer clay flower is hand sculpted and then placed into very dark alizarin crimson colored clay. The leaves are a pearlized green clay. This is my first attempt at sculpting of any kind.
It is wrapped in a sterling silver headpin and features ruby colored swarovski crystals and silver spacer beads.
It is a simple but pretty piece.

Black and White Floral Earrings
This is my entry for the May PCAGOE challenge. I usually like bright colors, but decided to make some black and white canes. I then used the canes to make pillow beads to make this pair of earrings.

Hibiscus Unfurling
Or my abstract version of it. I have a hibiscus in my back yard garden, which the hummingbirds just love. It is a gorgeous flower and one of my favorites.
The pendant is 2" round and 3/4" thick. I shaped it entirely by hand and baked it at 250 degrees for 2 hours over four 30 minute intervals. Between each curing, I sanded it with 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500 and 2000 grit sandpaper and baked it again. I buffed the finished piece with a dremel set at 15000 rpm loaded with worn denim circles.
The necklace is made from Palace Green Opal Swarovski crystal bicones, light and dark Jade green aventurine, silver foiled lined crystal charlottes and more handmade PC beads from the same batch of clay. I also sanded them through 6 grits of sandpaper and buffed them with the dremel.
(Please forgive the white spot on the lower right corner. It is camera glare, not a defect in the bead.)
More photos are listed on my photostream.
Thanks for looking at my May PCAGOE challenge entry.

Retro Flower Power
This is my entry into the PCAGOE May 2008 Floral Challenge.
This was made using the waste ends of a pink flower cane. (What a happy surprise) It reminds me a little of those flowers that were on the background of the set of "The Dating Game" I liked them (The cane ends) so much I had to make this Retro Flower Power Necklace.
This is the other side of the pendant:

Floral decorated dream bottle. The flowers are embelished with pearls, carved jade, sea urchin spines, garnets, and gold and clear frosted glass baubles. The entire bottle was dusted using red and gold interference white mica powders, and then a touch of antique gold polishing was was added for more character.

Blue Bobby Necklace 003
Inspired by color and nature, I created this version of a blue poppy! Each petal was cut, textured and painted by hand out of an air dry polymer clay which allows the petals to look delicate but remain flexible! The flower is 2 1/2" in diameter and it is attached to 16" black soft glass necklace with a clay leaf bail. The leaf is signed and dated by me.
