Powerful surf
The waves were very high on Point Dume this afternoon. There were also reports of very strong undercurrents so the surfers could only watch and wait.

Infomercial!
When you live in the Los Angeles area you get used to seeing movie and commercial film shoots just about everywhere. We found this "informercial" being filmed in a very secluded cove at Leo Carillo State Beach. It must have been tough getting that bed down there! There are only two ways to get to this spot. You have to either go down steep stairs or wade around a huge rock cliff through the water.

Pair o' gulls
They were hunting for sea urchins in the tidepools. When a gull finds an urchin, it takes it up into the sky and drops it on the beach to crack the shell. Then it swoops down fast before another gull can steal the meal.
