Golden Haze
?Romance is the glamour which turns the dust of everyday life into a golden haze.? (Amanda Cross, American writer and critic).
Note: This was a difficult one. I could hardly get to the right place to shoot this, barbwire (twice and ouch...), very wet land (got into my ankles) were my ennemies here. I made five shots with different exposure times (varied from 5 to 30 seconds). This was my winner and I'm really pleased with that subtle golden reflection. Hope you like it too.

A dream within a dream
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

The Path Less Taken
Taken near Picnic Point in Madison, Wisconsin last month. This was one of the smaller paths off of the main path while my wife and I enjoyed a stroll in the woods admiring the fall leaves.

As fouramjava witnessed a butterly emarging from its chrysalis successfully,
www.flickr.com/photos/fouramjava/248959868/in/set-7215759... I tried to do the same and waited for five butterflies come out of their chrysalises, but as it is getting colder and the butterfly season is over, I assumed that it would be the next spring before I could see them emerging. Then the other day I heard a scratching noise. To my surprise, a beautiful black swallow tail was flapping her wings inside the small insect cage. I failed to see and take pictures when it came out of the chrysalis.....I was so busy the next day that I kept the butterfly in the cage in order to take some shots of it later. I should have let it be free. When I came home, what I saw was the butterfly with its wings torn. I feel so sorry for the butterfly. I feel very guilty...

Pumpkin Roll
My friend Ruby made this yummy pumpkin roll. It is filled with sweetened cream cheese and pecans. A pumpkin roll recipe can be found here but we used pecans rather than walnuts.

O h ! No! ...... Not Another Autumn Maple leaf!!
On BlackOr Larger.
Sorry about yet another, but I am so weak willed when faced with temptation of this magnitude.
The leaves had fallen on my pampas grass, and were being variously lit, both by direct sunlight, and the reflected sunlight from a window. I like the two halves.
The brighter leaf represents the truer colour of this tree. People in the know, in the neighbourhood, are making their annual pilgrimage just to look at it this Autumn.

withered and wet
See it large!
Long as I remember the rain been comin down.
Clouds of mystry pourin confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages, tryin to find the sun;
And I wonder, still I wonder, wholl stop the rain.
I went down virginia, seekin shelter from the storm.
Caught up in the fable, I watched the tower grow.
Five year plans and new deals, wrapped in golden chains.
And I wonder, still I wonder wholl stop the rain.
Heard the singers playin, how we cheered for more.
The crowd had rushed together, tryin to keep warm.
Still the rain kept pourin, fallin on my ears.
And I wonder, still I wonder wholl stop the rain.

Beauty
".... All these things have you said of beauty.
Yet in truth you spoke not of her but of needs unsatisfied,
And beauty is not a need but an ecstasy.
It is not a mouth thirsting nor an empty hand stretched forth,
But rather a heart enflamed and a soul enchanted.
It is not the image you would see nor the song you would hear,
But rather an image you see though you close your eyes and a song you hear though you shut your ears.
It is not the sap within the furrowed bark, nor a wing attached to a claw,
But rather a garden forever in bloom and a flock of angels for ever in flight.
People of Orphalese, beauty is life when life unveils her holy face.
But you are life and you are the veil.
Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror.
But you are eternity and you are the mirror." ~ Khalil Gibran

Autumn bonfire
'Autumn bonfire' On Black
Or Larger.
I had a problem cropping this. The interest (i.e. the Autumn hill, bonfire and tree) was long and thin. Lots more lit up field and Autumn coloured hillside to the right. But I didn't want long and thin, so I included more rather dull clouds at the top, and a chunk of field pattern at the bottom.
Maybe I'll try a long and thin one as well.

Suspended
Found this walking around one misty morning. Those orange things are mushrooms with some grass background.
