Common Darter
I saw my first common darter of the season today at Gaddon loch. It was the only one we saw.

Saw this beautiful Garden Tiger Moth at Tentsmuir today. It's one of the Largest and most colourful moths in the uk.

Found this lovely caterpillar in a garden in Nottingham recently. It was feeding on a maple tree.

Swallowtail Butterfly
I saw a few of these beautiful butterflies flying around the botanic gardens in Blanes ( Spain) This one sat just long enough for me to get a couple of shots.

Saw several red and black insects like these with different patterns on their bodies. Not sure what they are.(Botanic Gardens Blanes)

Turned very cold today again so this robin was happy to feed from my hand at Birnie loch.

Sparrowhawk
This sparrowhawk landed in the garden today . It was after the house sparrows that were hiding in the clematis and actually climbed inside it trying to get them.It stayed for a good ten minutes so once i managed to get my wife Wendy away from the window i got a few decent shots.

At the far end of harperleese reservoir there are some piles of old treetrunks. There were several of these large beetles on them.

Common blue (female)
This is the first shot of a female common blue butterfly for me. There have been quite a few males around but this is the only female i've seen.(Gaddon Loch)

Cygnet
The birnie loch swan family are doing very well. All eight cygnets were with mum and dad today. I took lots of photos of them and this is one of my favs !
