longing for nostalgia
A Certain Smile
A certain smile, a certain face
Can lead an unsuspecting heart
On a merry chase
Afleeting glance can say
So many lovely things
Suddenly you know why my heart sings
You love awhile and when love goes
You try to hide the tears inside
With a cheerful pose
But in the hush of night
Exactly like a bitter sweet refrain
Comes that certain smile
To haunt your heart again

Bastogne : Eglise St Pierre
L?glise Saint-Pierre est remarquable par son admirable vote polychrome dont la peinture, attribue un artiste du pays, date de 1536.
Saint Peter?s church is worthy of note for its admirable multicolored ceiling rafters, which is presumed to have been painted by a local artist in 1536.

Marquam's Nightlife
Back once more to bridges. This time the Marquam. I had ventured up the tram before the need or the desire to shoot this bridge had arisen and had noted the wonderful view that the balcony up at OHSU provided looking straight down the Marquam, particularly of the on and off ramps criss-crossing. I know some look down upon this bridge as not being overly attractive or photogenic, and I certainly agree that it is not as easy to shoot as say... the St Johns Bridge, but under the right circumstances there are certainly some interesting shots to be found of this bridge. For this shot I went loaded for bear, lugging up a 300mm and a 500mm mirror lens along with a 2x teleconverter, giving me a 600mm and 1000mm focal lengths as well. I think I shot this with just the 300mm lens and Kodak 100UC film over about 30 seconds or so.
I like the turn signals from the cars changing lanes.

The walking lens cleaning kit
We nicknamed this zebra mare ?Naomi? ?.after another temperamental lady ;-)
Apart form being very tame (she follows you around like a dog would) she also knows how to throw a tantrum. Whenever we throw out wildlife pellets for them, she keeps the others away by kicking them?even if they are not close to her, she will jump up and down with her back legs and every time she jumps, she farts (hihihi).
I keep my distance with her because she is so temperamental but she loves to corner me when I?m not on the veranda (they know they are not allowed on there) and then I have to call my husband to come and rescue me from Naomi?.with his 2m height she has more respect for him.
It is quite ironic to me that people boast about their pets all having specific and individual personalities, but somehow they do not think the same of wild animals?trust me, whether it is a cat or a zebra, they all have their own unique characteristics.

Kiev-7
one of my faves that I shot a couple weeks ago... I've never gotten a light leak with the Kiev, although I've read it possible... this was the only light leak on the whole roll, but it seems to work I think... anyways... it's Monday, again... :)

Pink Tulip Field
I think im Colorblind now, i found this place in spring on my jogging route at first i didn't know what it was from the far, because it was just a pink screaming color trough the bushes.
the ones in the front were actualy light pink not light red so I slightly desaturated the photo, because my pentax totaly freaked out.
I placed this Photo on the map for you, who want to know where in denmark ...
by the way the Tulips arent for harvesting or selling its the onion they harvest.
if you have the time have a look at my other pictures ... the tulips seem to be my divas *g*
thank you

My selection @ Breakthrough, SFAC
I was invited to curate a set of 10 photos for Breakthrough: An Amateur Photography Revolution at SFAC (San Fransciso Arts Commission) Gallery.
I'd like to thank the nine photographers who allowed their work to be exhibited as part of the installation: Meg Greer, Go Orbit, Bob Smith, Mark Whitaker, onewhisper, Paul Erwin, alspix, Gayla Trail and Alison G.
Statement:
"With over a million photos added each day, Flickr is the joy of photography from many walks of life. From people sharing new life to those who capture beauty around them, there?s a breadth of experiences that never cease to capture the team?s imagination.
Though it?s easier now than ever to buy more pixels for less money, I wanted to celebrate the continuing fascination that began with Joseph Nicphore Nipce?s 'View from the Window at Le Gras' at the dawn of photography -- A box, a shutter and patience.
For this exhibit, I selected ten pinhole photographs from the Flickr community that bridge a traditional method with more contemporary subject matter."
The exhibition continues through June 16, 2007 should you find yourself in the Bay Area.
Apologies for the less than stellar photo.
