DNA shows all photos that have been in Explore but may not be in Explore currently. Scout, by default, only shows photos currently in Explore. From Scout, you can see all photos that have been in Explore by clicking the link "Include dropped".

Please read the FAQ for more information about Explore and Scout.

Hi!
My Flickr DNA tells me that one pic of mine has been in EXPLORE and it shows me it. BUT, when I try to SCOUT my pics on EXPLORE, it does NOT appear and it tells me "Sorry, no Explore photos were found for that person.".
Do you know why?

When Scout scanned today (and it has been scanning today, all day long, every 10 minutes) your photo wasn't there.

I realize that people like to go to Explore on the day of but Explore doesn't become "official" until midnight PST the following day. Explore's "day" is counted using PST (Flickr Time). Flickr doesn't even return valid results for Explore API queries until the following day.

So, the 26th didn't become official until today, the 27th. And when it did, your photo wasn't there.

There's nothing I can do about it.

If they used Scout and saw your photo there then it would still be there. Scout keeps a permanent record of what was in Explore. Since they're not in Scout now, I can only conclude that your contacts used some other tool to find your photos or they typed in the wrong screen name and saw someone else's photos. You can only make a Scout poster with the photos that Scout knows about.

You should ask them. But likw I said, it is totally possible for photos to appear in explore and then drop out almost immediately in which case Scout never gets a chance to see them. Check the FAQ for more information about that. http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/faq.php

I checked and, when I click "Include dropped", Scout shows that you've had 15 photos in Explore. I don't know how you know you have had 25 but it's entirely possible that Scout missed some of them, especially in the past. Nowadays, Scout scans Explore every 10 minutes so it's much less likely that Scout will miss new ones.

No, it's not. You can opt-out of bighugelabs.com completely if you like so that only you can see your information here. Click the opt-out button at the bottom of any page.

You do realize that anyone can use the Bloglines, Technorati, Google, and Yahoo search engines directly to find that information regardless of what you do here? Anything you put online in public will be indexed and publicly available *forever*. Even after you remove it from Flickr, many search engines including Google keep a copy forever.

I don't like anyone using the Bloglines Search in the Ego Surf section of Flickr DNA. It's basically a diary of everything I do and say on Flickr. I don't seem to see anything at the Bloglines site to allow this info to not be shown, therefore, is it possible to just remove the Bloglines Search line from my Ego Surf section of my Flickr DNA? I like everything else.
