DRACO from DRAGONHEART
My entry for PCAGOE August Challenge: IT'S SHOW TIME!
I love the movie DRAGONHEART and think it is the Best Dragon movie ever made. I really liked how the dragon looked and somehow also matches Sean Connery's facial expressions when he talks. ?Dragonheart? has great storyline with plenty of action, adventure, humor, special effects and most important of all -- a good ending.
The dragon?s name is DRACO ? and he is my inspiration for the polymer clay focal pendant I have created for this challenge. He has a pair of hematite eyes and embellished with genuine fresh water pearl and fancy Czech glass beads. The red Swarovski crystal bead (which makes the heart) forms an accent to the piece.
My favorite quote from DRACO in the movie: "I mainly chewed in self-defense. I didn't swallow."

Siringitu: A Tribute to Out of Africa
My entry for the August PCAGOE challenge, the theme of which is "It's Show Time", is a tribute to one of my favorite movies: "Out of Africa".
The Maasai call the Serengeti "Siringitu", the place where the land moves on forever. The Serengeti's ecosystem is one of the oldest on Earth. The colors in the gemstones I chose for this necklace represent the Serengeti's climate, vegetation, and wildlife. The gemstones are apple jasper, rainbow jasper, and African yellow turquoise.
The polymer clay pendant is a blend of Kato copper and a celedon/light sage color made from Premo Ecru, green and a little bit of Kato yellow.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
This polymer clay photo transfer piece, complete with glow in the dark crystal ball, was created for the PCAGOE August competition. The theme for August is "Show time" so I picked my favorite movie!

August Challenge
Maybe she was a fan of Clara Bow who was the Hottest jazz baby of the silent screen. She was born into poverty, and grew up in the Brooklyn slums. She was generous, and reckless, and able to shed a flood of tears on cue. Smoking, drinking, and petting parties were all part of her repertoire. She was one of the hottest box office stars of the silent film era. She was notorious from the beginning.

Oh, As Usual, Dear
The PCAGOE (polymer clay artists guild of etsy) August 2008 challenge is all about TV and movies. As everyone who's ever been in the same room with me knows, I am a huge Buffy fanatic. This is one of my favorite character quotations, said dubiously by good old Giles, and it's a sentiment I can relate to.
This little piece of wall art was created in several steps using 20 different polymer clay canework patterns. It measures about 7 inches square.

PCAGOE July Challenge
My inspiration for the July PCAGOE challenge was my favorite movie Steel Magnolias. Made with Studio Sculpey clay, I used chalk and pearl Ex powder to give a metallic glint to the single magnolia bloom.

Splash!
PCAGOE Monthly Challenge - It's Showtime!
One of my all time favourite movies is Splash! So I thought a little mermaid would be fun to do for a change!
She has a starfish friend and a fish friend too. This is all getting a little too cute!
They are a magnet set, so you could put her on your fridge.

PCAGOE August challenge
Showtime was the theme. I went with the show I've seen most recently, "Mama Mia!!! " I enjoyed it and If anyone has seen the movie 'dot-dot-dot' has a special meaning. The dots are transparent cobalt blue glass. The backs are open so the glass really shines when the light passes through it! I have placed it on a double strand of waxed cotton cord with a silvertoned spiral clasp.

PCAGOE August Favorite Show Challenge entry. Inspired by the one of my favorite shows "Project Runway" . I left the pendant white to make it like a sketch or a blank canvas. I love to see what the designers come up with each week . You can vote for your favorite at pcagoe.com on August 1st!
