Spaß mit Fotos (Fun with Photos)
September 11th, 2007
It’s been a good week. I haven’t done any paid advertising for BigHugeLabs.com so it’s always great when someone mentions or recommends the site. A huge thank you goes out to CNet’s Webware and Josh Lowensohn for mentioning the site Monday. Also, much thanks to Programmable Web and Weddingbee (I’m happy to be of service) for their recent mentions.
Finally, a very nice looking German video blog named Ehrensenf linked here today with what appears to be a cool little mini-review (at about the 2:07 mark). Unfortunately, despite several years of German in high school, I don’t understand any of it so if anyone out there can help out with a little summary translation and info about the blog that’d be super cool. Thanks!

(translation)…and here on BigHugeLabs.com, one can make a lot of fun things with his/her photos or flickr pics. As for example cd-covers, filterings, cinema-ads or, as in this example, montages. Just joking, the last image was, of course, real….
there u go…

ehrensenf.de is a 3 min every-workday-movie providing interesting web-links which help you get over a full working day without being productive. it’s moderated in weekly interchange by mark with k and that other brunette. it’s good fun. (not for your boss though)
ps: ehrensenf is an anagram of “fernsehen” which is german for television or looking television. translatet it would mean “moustard of honor”.
s.
Ehrensenf is a hugely popular german video blog and is regarded as the first daily german TV show on the internet.
Its purpose is to present absurd, funny, interesting or useful webpages in a funny news-like way.
The text translates as follows:
‘[...] and here at BigHugeLabs you can do lots of other crazy things with your photos or flickr-images; e.g. CD-sleeves, alienations, movie-posters or photomontages. Just kidding. This one is real. [...]‘
best regards from Germany

Hello.
First of all, thank you for providing these services!
Here is the German transcript starting at the 1:50 mark and my attempt to translate it:
[1:50] Ja, da sind doch endlich fröhliche Farben. Peinlich nur, wenn die plötzlich vor einem stehen und man ihre Namen nicht mehr kennt. Aber da hilft einem zum Glück “Name that Color”; ein kleines Online-Programm, das Ihnen die richtigen Namen von über 1500 Farbtönen verrät. Mit DEM Wissen sind Sie der Mittelpunkt jeder Party!
YES, finally some happy colors. It’s just embarrassing when they stand before you and you forgot their name. But in that case “Name that Color” can help; a small online program, that tells you the names of more than 1500 color shades. With THAT knowledge you will be the king of every party!
[2:05] Und können die Farben, die zu Ihnen oder ihrem Typ passen hier feststellen, und dann gleich persönlich ansprechen.
And you can discover the colors that suit you here, and approach them.
And you can have a lot more fun with you photos here at BigHugeLabs. Like for example: CD covers, bead art, movie posters, or photomontages. Kidding aside, this of course real. :)
Take care,
Bjoern
P.S.: If I had to describe Ehrensenf in one sentence, I would say: “The German version of Rocketboom”
I made a translated transscript for you,
quick and dirty. I hope a few gags survived my translation:
What?
Another Video of Bin Laden?
Hopefully it’s no marketing-gag by gilette.
Hehe … Bin Laden acts like a teenager on Youtube,
Though he is’nt singing along to Backstreet Boys songs, he
publicated another video.
Bonus material so to say.
With never seen before beards … ehm … scenes.
And of course with only one camera angle, the contents
carry that.
This time Osama bin Laden reads out the will of one 9/11
terrorist.
What could that be?
The need for the missing pages of the manual with instructions on how to land an airplane?
Naa … seriously … what else could someone wish in addition to the full comforting service of some virgins?
Perhaps a grave with window?
Like the one Timothy Clark Smith purchased for his grave just in case he would have been buried alive. Furthermore he had a bell in his hand to draw attention to himself if necessary.
But luckily he was dead for real as he hadn’t any sunblocker with him.
You should busy yourself with death in the following situations:
First before you try to cross a street in India.
And second if you work in Death Star’s cantina and Darth Vader comes along like in this very funny with legos visualized stand-up monologue by British comedian Eddie
Izzard.
It was’nt my intention to spread a bad mood.
How about some cute Teddies and Bunnies for a change?
Oh … ok Luke Chue’s aren’t the best example for such.
His paintings of hope and hopelesness are dealing mainly with hopelesness.
But always with a fine trace of black humour and this is so well received his fans getting Chue’s motives tatooed.
Ok, there’s nothing to say about that perhaps to emphasize his or hers individuality .
*a picture of 4 identical tatoos on 4 different people is shown*
OK OK … now there are some REALLY cute animals.
And they’re soooo cute even vegetarians would eat them.
Namely these vegetable-animals.
Like cauliflower lambs, avocado pigs, aubergine penguins or green pepper frogs.
These are also great fun on a pillow.
Yes, there are finally some happy colors.
Awkward if the colors are standing before yourself and you don’t know their names.
But “Name that color” is helping you, luckily. A small online utility that reveals the names of above 1500 colors.
With this know-how you can be sure to be in the middle of interest at the next party.
You can determine colors corresponding to your type and adress them.
And here at bighugelabs you can make some more jabberwocky with your pictures or flickr photos.
E.g. CD-Covers, alienations, cinema posters or photo composition, just kidding that’s no montage
*an overlifesize poster of the moderator at timesquare is shown*
So happy pictures, happy colors there’s only happy music missing.
But seek and ye shall find!
At least if he uses the method described here, he’s even finding videos if he’s eager to find such.
Don’t worry searching isn’t illegal.
There’s no need to wet your pants unless you want to make music yourself…
with the drum set pant. It’s full with tiny sensors which allow to play drum on/with that pant.
If this guy were a neighbour of me … I would help him beating the drums.
For people which think this is to strenous there’s the alternative to lay down on the sound bed:
a piece of art by Vasco Alvo.
With this bed you can make music while sleeping and not only through the nose as usually.
Nah, all of this is only baublery …ahem… excuse me art.
A new music instrument to be taken seriously is the Reactogon … where discs are placed on
the touchscreen making notes and chords and joining all these and Stephen Hawking actually understands
this.
You have a real chance to understand something for yourself when you play our game’s recommendation:
Egypt puzzle
Noo … not the jigsaw of a persian carpet,
the GAME!
So put away stones and on we go … have fun!
By the way many thanks to all the people whom already designed a paper critter.
Unfortunately we only managed to tinker one of them for the site wasn’t reachable.
But we try further and you hopefully as well.
Because that’s really fun.
That was Ehrensenf I’m Mark with “k”, good bye.
Ahh … this f*cking glue everywhere … F*CKING TINKERING!!!
Ehrensenf is a German Internet-Tv Show presenting interesting/astounding/curious/outstanding/funny Websites/Videos/Programs.
The show’s opener usually is an actual headline and then starts to hurry through the link tips picking up a word or theme from the link shown first.
Perhaps you can see what I mean if you read the transscript.
Kind regards
tulek
Wow! Thank you and thanks for dropping by!
