Color palettes made with the Palette Generator toy can now be downloaded in Adobe Swatch Exchange (.ASE) format. Now you can download palettes and use them in Photoshop or compatible applications without any copy/paste monkeying around. Here’s how:
I get a lot of questions from people asking why their photos move around in Flickr’s Explore. I’ve written an FAQ but I thought a visual explanation might be better. This video represents a single day of Explore, February 7th, 2008.
Introducing Pocket Album! Using this new toy you can easily create and print a pocket-sized photo album. Choose photos for you pocket album from Flickr or upload them directly from your computer. Print it out, fold it up, and share the love with family and friends.
Several Windows users have emailed that a Javascript file used on this site is infected with the JS/Snz.A virus. This appears to be a false positive caused by a problem with CA Anti-Virus software (also known as eTrust or Vet Anti-Virus). BigHugeLabs.com is not infected with a virus. The warning is a false positive.
Users of CA eTrust/Vet Anti-Virus may notice increased virus warnings on many websites that use complex Javascript until CA fixes the problem. Hopefully CA will issue an update quickly that corrects the problem.
I’ll post updates as they become available.
Update: CA has issued a virus definition update that fixes the problem. Update your anti-virus software if you are still seeing the warnings.
Introducing Jigsaw: Convert any photo into a realistic looking photo jigsaw puzzle in seconds with just a few clicks of the mouse. And, as if that wasn’t enough fun, you can even order a real, honest-to-goodness 30 or 250 piece puzzle that will be printed and shipped directly to your door (starting at $35, shipping included).
Starting Friday, November 23, and continuing through Saturday, November 24, all poster orders will receive an automatic 15% discount off the regular price. Click for more info.
BigHugeLabs.com may be more stylish than I thought. It was mentioned in the Fall/Winter 2007 In Style Home magazine. How cool is that? The editors wrote a blurb about the movie poster creator. Thanks, In Style Home!
Two small updates: The Palette Generator will now show color names in addition to the hexadecimal color codes when it can find a matching name. Also, a long standing problem when making Mosaics from photosets with more than 500 photos has been fixed.
