Stumbled across this fun use of the Trading Card maker in the classroom from Karen Bosch:
Recently my sixth grade students have been working on a research project about our National Parks. One of their project choices was making a National Park trading card based on their research … The students loved making these cards. It is the kind of project that could be adapted to almost any subject. You could even have the students do these at home as a homework assignment as a fun way to publish a paragraph or report!

Starting right now and running through Saturday, all printed products sold at BigHugeLabs.com are 25% off. In addition, you can still get up to an additional 25% off by ordering multiple items in a single order. And, as if that wasn’t enough, express shipping within the U.S. is still free. For the first time, after months and years of steady growth, Bighugelabs.com was visited by 1 million unique visitors in a 30 day period! 1,007,326 to be exact. Woo hoo! That’s quite a milestone around here and I’m incredibly proud to have created a service that so many people love. Thank you for visiting!
Also, I couldn’t have done it without Flickr, of course. Many of you are Flickr users (and if you’re not, you really should be) and heard about BigHugeLabs.com from a forum or one of your contacts there. BigHugeLabs’ popularity grew, primarily, from word-of-mouth advertising among Flickr users in the early days. In fact, it’s true to say that BigHugeLabs.com wouldn’t even exist without Flickr and the support of the fine folks there. Thanks!

After [many delays unforeseeable problems flat tire locusts] much procrastinating, it is finally possible to order prints of your mosaics created from your own images! Yay! Mosaics can be ordered in sizes from 8×10 inches all the way up through ginormous 20×24 inches. Mosaics are automatically adjusted depending on their shape (especially tiled mosaics) and your paper choice so they always look fantastic when printed.
New to the mosaic toy? Not only does it let you create really cool image grids, you can also choose from a selection of predefined templates to frame your photos.

Effective immediately, every print order automatically qualifies for a discount when purchasing multiple items. When ordering two items, you’ll get a 15% discount off the entire order (excluding shipping). Three items gives you a 20% discount. And you can get a Big Huge 25% discount for ordering four items or more. That’s equivalent to getting the fourth item for free. And the best part? This is not a short-term promotion or sale. This discount will be available to everyone for the foreseeable future.
Just try any of the print making toys and click Buy a Print beneath your poster. The discount is applied automatically whether you order two or more copies of any one item or two or more completely different items.
It’s also now easier than ever to order multiple posters with the new shopping cart system. If you’ve ever tried ordering multiple items in the past, you know what a headache it was. Now you can add as many posters as you’d like to your shopping cart, mull them over for a few hours, remove the ones you don’t want, and order the rest all at once.
We’re also on the verge of launching some new print products… It’s all rather top secret at the moment but keep an eye out for the announcement.
As always, whether you buy anything from BigHugeLabs.com or not, all of the toys are free to use and you have my deepest thanks for being a loyal BigHugeLabs.com visitor and supporter!

Holy cow! As of this morning BigHugeLabs.com has 106,000 registered members. And 206,000 Flickr members have linked their Flickr accounts. Since April, that’s over 240 new signups per day. That’s amazing. I remember when this all started way back in the Summer of 2005. Back then I never dreamed fd’s Flickr Toys would become so successful. Thank you thank you thank you for all of your support!
